Easy, Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Did you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day? I know, I know you've heard it all before but it really is. Breakfast fills up your empty tank and gets your body going for the day. It also sets the pace for how you eat the rest of the day.

Here is a quick, easy recipe from Fitness Magazine that will get your day off to a good start:

Waffles With Blueberry Maple Syrup

FitnessMagazine.com / Chris Gallo

1/3 cup frozen blueberries
2 teaspoons maple syrup
2 whole-grain waffles
1 tablespoon pecans

Microwave blueberries and syrup together for 2 to 3 minutes, until berries are thawed. Toast waffles and top with warm blueberry syrup. Sprinkle with pecans.

Waffles you may want to try include Eggo Nutri-Grain Waffles made with whole-wheat (2 waffles at 170 calories); or Kashi 7 Grain or Blueberry Waffles (2 waffles at 150 calories).

I've tried both of these brands and they are great! Van's Foods also has a large line of waffles available, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I'd LOVE to try their Power Grains waffles though, which have 10 grams of protein!! That's not too shabby for a waffle!

Have a great day everyone and don't forget to eat your breakfast!
